John Berry, a GRAMMY® winning singer/songwriter, who was diagnosed with throat cancer after wrapping his 2018 Christmas tour, shares his inspiration for the 24th Annual Christmas Songs and Stories Tour. 2020 has brought many new challenges to the touring industry, but determined to bring the joy of live music and the much needed Christmas spirit to as many fans as possible, John Berry will be on stage performing to keep the tradition alive in as many venues as they can. John’s 2019 Christmas season was a reason for celebration as he reflected on his ongoing recovery and the joy of the Christmas spirit after he concluded 35 cancer treatments, including chemotherapy and radiation, but 2020 finds him with a whole new list of hurdles brought on by the current Covid-19 virus. Normally John and his band hit the road right after Thanksgiving and do not stop until close to Christmas making stops in approximately 25 cities. This year there are only six cities which will kick off with his hometown of Gallatin, TN on December 12th for two shows at The Palace Theatre, then hitting the road for stops in Jeffersonville, Indiana, down to Georgia for shows in Athens, Bremen and Macon and ending in Dothan, Alabama. Each city has restrictions on occupancy which has created obstacles of pre-sold tickets over-filling seats that went on sale after last year’s tour and found John’s team forced to find solutions to overcome the challenge of how to keep fans happy and meet the regulations set by each city. In more than one instance they had to move the show to a larger facility which allowed more space to seat ticket holders in a socially distanced atmosphere.  Each venue will taking precautions to help ticket holders feel safe which includes spaced seating and requesting masks be worn. A few venues will have staggered entry and exit to keep a safe flow. All steps will be put into place to try and keep these shows a safe enjoyable event

“I have looked forward to this tour each year, but coming into this Christmas season, having overcome a major hurdle in my life and now with Covid-19 crippling the touring industry, it has given me even more reasons to want to share God’s most precious gift, Jesus, with audiences through Christmas Songs and Stories,” shares John Berry.

2021 will celebrate the Silver Anniversary of the Christmas Songs and Stories Tour commemorating with plans for a bigger and better enhanced performance.

“There is not a more beautiful and emotionally powerful voice in music than that of John Berry.” stated Lorianne Crook, Crook & Chase.
